
Alma D. Washington or Miss Dee ,as she affectionately called, is an active senior citizen. Music has been a part of her life, since she was a young girl. She began playing the piano at the age of seven and has been an active musician ever since. She played piano throughout her home towns of Pittsburgh and Cranberry PA and was the church organist / pianist at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Butler, Pennsylvania for 17 years. She was also a member of the praise team at Victory Family Church in Cranberry, Pennsylvania. She recorded a religious album entitled; I Wish I Had Give Him More and hosted a local radio program.
In this new chapter of her life, Miss Dee resides in Ypsilanti, MI. She has continued her active and vivacious lifestyle. She is a member of Victorious Life Church of God. She is the pianist for the Ypsilanti Assembly of God Church and the rehearsal pianist for the YTRD Lively Singers. She is also a frequent musical guest at various local churches. She has was the opening artist for the Washtenaw Community College Talent Showcase (2013) and can be seen at Pianos ‘Round Town.
When she is not playing piano or socializing at the Ypsilanti Township Recreation Center, she is spending time with her family. Miss Dee was treasured and supported in her music career and beyond by her late husband, Earnest D. Washington. She is loved and supported by her family including her daughter Othelia, a bonus daughter, Willa Peterson, and a bonus son, Lee Mathews. Two granddaughters, Tamara and her husband Kenyatta, and Tiffany. Five great granddaughters, Makayla, Mariah and her husband Phill, Mackenzie, Aya, and Zuri, and one great-great granddaughter, Reign.
